140 YEARS
WE CALL IT PIPAPO
You're not supposed to live in the past - but that's not the case when it comes to fashion. From an aesthetic point of view, it can be quite sensible and stylish to indulge in old fashion trends, revisit past styles and adapt them to current trends. Inspired by HANRO's first mix & match programme called 'pi, pa & po' from the 1980s, the designers have created some very special styles for the popular sleepwear line 'Sleep & Lounge' to mark the company's 140th anniversary.
A look into the archive: Advertising postcards 'pi, pa & po' from the Autumn/Winter collection 1988/89 and from the Spring/Summer collection 1989 - the beginnings of today's 'Sleep & Lounge' collection.
We take a nostalgic look at the 'pi, pa & po' collection of the 80s. This mix & match collection epitomised youthfulness and fashion freedom like no other. Its designs were created according to the credo that underwear should not look like underwear, but like outerwear. From bold patterns to vibrant colours, the 'pi, pa & po' collection offered endless possibilities to express your own style and be wearable around the clock.
In 2024, 'PiPaPo' is celebrating its anniversary with a mix & match style that combines retro vibes with modern flair.
We celebrate the timeless elegance and versatility of the HANRO 'Sleep & Lounge' collection. This Mix&Match collection offers a wide range of options - from stripes and prints to single-colour pieces that can be perfectly combined with each other. It epitomises the idea of freedom in fashion and gives you the opportunity to create your own personal style. And it's not just the design that's remarkable - each piece is made from the finest materials to guarantee maximum comfort.

THE ANNIVERSARY LOOKBOOK
140 YEARS FOR HIM & HER
140 YEARS THEN & NOW
To mark the anniversary, we are taking a retrospective look at 140 years of textile history. Since its founding in 1884, HANRO has accompanied the spirit of the times with underwear collections. This has resulted in iconic ranges that reflect the lifestyle of generations and characterise the brand yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The company archive in Liestal served as a source of inspiration for the designers, in which valuable, historical pieces from the old HANRO collection have been collected over the last 140 years. The anniversary styles were staged using old campaign images.
